Women in Tech (Asia) will be running its third edition on 19 September 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in conjunction with the Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH). Women in Tech (Asia) is a platform that brings together key stakeholders in the tech ecosystem and connects women to new opportunities in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field.

Highlights of this year’s event include the Mainstage conference, Dialogue sessions and Innolab workshops. Present are top executives and specialists from global tech companies like Microsoft, and among the growing list of confirmed notable keynote speakers for the Mainstage are:

  • Renee Lo, Head of Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning & AI, Amazon Web Services
  • Aparajita Bhattacharya, Engineering Director, Architecture and Technology group for ARM
  • Dr. Daiana Beitler, Philanthropies Director, for Greater Asia & Pacific, Microsoft
  • Linda Liukas, a Coder, Best-Selling Author (“Hello Ruby” published in 25 languages) & Founder of Rails Girls

Participants can also look forward to learning from top visionary leaders by engaging in in-depth conversations during the Dialogue sessions or through various deep-dive workshops with Asia’s leading innovators.

Expect new exciting workshops, such as the mentorship centred seminar that aims to not only inspire women in tech to be mentors, but also to equip them with the ability to find advisers and sponsors. The conference also provides a platform for the creation of new investor subgroups in ASEAN and Singapore by providing opportunities and training sessions to help women become angel investors in the technology space. The initiative is led by AngelCentral and Women in Tech (Asia).

“There are many amazing women out there who are empowered by tech, and as doers and makers are shaping the world of tomorrow. It is important that these female role models get visibility to inspire more women to pursue a career in the STEM industry, and that we facilitate a marketplace of opportunities in this space for women to grow.” shares Jenni Risku, Founder, Women in Tech (Asia).

Conference passes are available for sale on the Women in Tech (Asia) website (http://womenintech.sg/). Interested members can purchase the regular pass at SGD $199 or the premium pass at SGD $450 that guarantees pre-booking and first access to the workshops. Early bird conference and premium passes at -25% discount will be available from now till 1st of September.

Since its inception, more than 2,000 men and women have been part of this movement, and this year’s conference promises to have even greater impact than the last.
